The Oak Lodge at Orange Sky Hills

Our Local Recommendations

While The Oak Lodge is situated on over 10 acres, designed as a peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle, we understand that sometimes you’ll want to explore the surrounding area. We purposefully chose a location that offers easy access to the charm and hospitality of Knoxville, as well as the attractions and entertainment found in Sevierville and Pigeon Forge. We’ve curated a list of a few of our favorite trails, restaurants, and local experiences for those seeking to add some adventure to their stay. Whether you're looking to unwind or explore, there's no shortage of exciting things to do just beyond the property.

Hiking Trails

  • Charlie's Bunion - A beautiful 8-mile round-trip hike along the Appalachian Trail, offering incredible views of the Smoky Mountains. This trail features rocky terrain and is a favorite for experienced hikers. (moderate)
  • Mt. LeConte  – One of the highest peaks in the Smokies, this challenging 11-mile trail rewards you with breathtaking panoramic views at the summit. (strenuous)
  • Alum Cave Trail - A moderately easy, 5-mile round-trip hike that only goes half-way up to Mt. LeConte. Perfect for those that may not want to hike all the way to the top of the mountain, this hike still offers scenic views and a unique cave at the end. (easy/moderate)
  • Chimney Tops - A short but steep trail that leads to a unique double peak with stunning vistas of the Smokies. (strenuous)
  • Abrams Falls - A relatively easy, 5-mile hike that leads to one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the Smokies. The trail winds through the woods, offering great views of the surrounding nature. While this hike is on the opposite end of the national park from where we are located, we recommend to make it a fun day trip paired with exploring the Cades Cove Loop Road which is considered the best place to see wildlife and black bears in the park. (easy)
